Bursaries

Our bursary programme is available for entry into the Senior School at any age.

A bursary is a form of financial assistance which is means-tested, i.e. based on parental income. Bursaries are not dependent on academic or co-curricular ability but are awarded to pupils who are likely to gain most from a King’s education and who will contribute fully to the life of the School. Scholarships may be supplemented by bursary assistance if the financial circumstances of the family necessitate it.

All applicants are required to disclose, in confidence, their financial details on our Bursary Application Form, for submission to the Bursar, before a decision can be reached. Both parents are required to provide proof of their income and assets. The level of support varies according to parental income; however, parents need to be aware that the bursary fund is limited. Bursaries are always offered for the duration of the child’s education at King’s, but parents are required to re-submit a new Bursary Application Form each year to notify the School of their current financial circumstances.

If you feel you might be eligible for bursary assistance, please consult the Bursary Policy on the website, contact the Bursar to discuss this further, or select the relevant box on the Registration Form and a Bursary Application Form (together with a copy of our Bursary Policy) will be sent to you. The School reserves the right to make home visits to verify the information provided.

Please note that, whilst we would like as many as possible of those pupils who meet our entry requirements to take up a place at the School, the bursary fund is limited.

The dates for Entrance and Scholarship Assessments can be viewed here.

For any further queries about bursaries, please contact the Bursar, e-mail: bursary@thekingsschool.co.uk.
