Mr David Morton became the 39th Headmaster in King’s 475-year history in September 2017.
Prior to joining King’s David was Deputy Head at King Henry VIII School in Coventry. His considerable experience working in the independent sector extends to Alleyn’s School in Dulwich, Kingston Grammar School, Bedford School and Christ’s College, Blackheath.
David was educated at The King’s School Worcester, a fellow Cathedral School, before studying at Exeter University where he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Geography. He then went on to complete his post-graduate education at Cambridge University, where he gained his Geography PGCE.
He has a proven ability to connect with young people in the classroom, as a coach on the sports field and through much involvement in extra-curricular activities. He has led many school expeditions to developing countries, he has led the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award programme and he is a great advocate of the benefits of outdoor education. David is married to Annie and they have two sons who attend the King’s Junior School.
